Young and old...Sea World style!

Today's post features two shots that I took over the long Memorial Day weekend during a trip to Sea World San Antonio. The first features a dolphin (I can't remember his name, as soon as I do I will post an update!) swimming in Dolphin Cove. What is notable about this particular dolphin is you might notice that his jaw is a little crooked and his teeth don't look all that good. That is because this dolphin is in his mid-40s, which is really old for a dolphin. BUT..there is an even OLDER dolphin in the Cove as well! She is a great-grandmother and is estimated to be in her early 50s.

The next shot is of a young blue-billed duck. It isn't as young as some of the ducks that we saw this weekend (some of the young ducks by the zoo were walking ON lily pads in the San Antonio river!!). Those ducks did not have the prominent blue bill like this one though, so this duck made a much more fitting subject for a photo.

  1. Gosh, Brian, these are both wonderful photos! I did not know that dolphins lived that long, that's really something else. LOVE the composition of both these shots, I think they're fabulous my friend!
